Comments
Great list. The 2007 seems to have much more talent than the 2006 one, and is almost an appetizer to the *very* strong 2008 draft.
Do you see Jessica Dickson, the 6'1" F from South Florida, as having a future in the WNBA?

Unless she gets injured, I see Latta as the top pick for 2007. She's starter material and most teams could use her. Even if she's a back-up in her first season(like in Seattle, Sacramento or Washington).

I like the list, I'd definately add in Gillian Goring if she improves, she seems to have a world of potential, she's 6-7 and athletic. I also think Sidney Spencer deserves to be on this list, 9.3 ppg for Tennessee, shooting lights out from beyond the arc and 97% from the line. I think she'll have a decent career as a role player in the WNBA.
Great list though!

If Reicina Russell doesn't reappear at school somewhere, she would be eligible for this draft. She's one to keep an eye on.

CHESLEY DABBS TEXAS TECH
KAMESHA HAIRSTON TEMPLE

What about Kirby Copeland for VA Tech. Great player/athlete. She's a 5'9 TWO guard. Look for great things this season from her.

Cameo Hicks from Washington has quiety become a 2007 WNBA prospect. All Freshman team Pac 10, 1st Team Pac, Top 10 in every major offensive catagory. Her left handed slashing game is now complemented with a long range 3. She works hard in the off season, and it shows in her stats each year. Look for a "Cameo" appearance in 2007.

I think the list is good, and i also think ivory latta should join the minnesota lynx, because if you but ivory and seimone togather you would come out with a great season, because both are incredible.

Ivory Latta should be the number one pick in the draft. She's only 5 ft. 4. in. and she's the best player in college basketball. She's like
a female Allen Iverson and whoever drafts her first, will have a legitimate playoff chance, and if she has one or two premiere all-stars to help her, a
championship chance.

Ivory Latta Most likely will be the top pick in the draft, but since Phoenix has the #1 Pick I think Phoenix should use her as trade bait. Simply becuz they r flooded with guards. But I'm also guessing that they will make it work with her in the lineup becuz their guards are also diversal, they can play numerous positions. Like Cappie Pondexter can play the 2 also, and with her size, strength & ability 2 post up Diana Taurasi who started out in UConn at the One Spot she can Also play the Two, & The Three Spots becuz she's bigger than most of the othe guards. So I expect Phoenix to Select Ivory Latta with the top pic and adjust the lineup. Its a Safe Pick Though!

I think the Houston Comets should trade Sheryl Swoopes for the #2 pick and draft Ivory Latta. Move Thompson to 3 Sancho 4 Snow stay at 5 and canty at 2.
Posted by: ratman | Wednesday 13 December 2006
I also think the comets need to draft Armintie Price from Ole Miss.

Cherrise Graham, 2007 WNBA draft sleeper pick.
Posted by: Bballetz | Monday 22 January 2007
Carrie Moore from Western Michigan who is leading the nation in scoring with a 25.8 avg. needs to be included in any WNBA conversation regarding the 2007 draft.

take a strong look at this one-Megan Vogel-South Dakota State University-gret player- dependable student- put up 23 against Il State last night- sleeper now, star "6th man" later.

You have to be kidding. Ivory Latta is the most overrated women's college player there is this year. She makes terrible decisions because of her need to be in the limelight. Time after time she throws the ball up at the hoop, out of control. Because of her drama queen personality, she seems to offer more negative than positive as a WNBA player. Time for Latta to be removed from the stage.

I think all of you people giving accolades to Latta must be North Carolina Tar Heel fans or faithful. I don't know what tournement games you've been watching but I've seen Latta make terrible decisions time and time again, being out of control throwing the ball up at the hoop, realizing it is the way she has best chance of scoring, if she can get fouled. She doesn't have the skills make difficult shots repeatedly. She would be more of a liability than an asset. She may have been popular and had a following by many during her four years, but the reality is that she is not a top ten draft pick, especially when you figure in her need to be in the limelight and make bad decisions with the basketball. Shannon Bobitt for Tennessee (acquired from a Jr college last year) had much better ball control, and played with much greater savy than Latta. Thank goodness Latta was on the court during the Tennessee game allowing her bad decisions to bring Tennessee the victory. It is time for this drama queen to leave the stage. Projected: second round pick, with very little playing time in her future in the WNBA.
