WNBA.com's draft coverage
Friday 08 April 2005
Forget the front page of WNBA.com if you want good draft coverage, go to the Storm's draft HQ instead for good analysis. They currently have an analysis of PG prospects and a mock draft. Kudos to Kevin Pelton for doing a good job and thanks for the shout-out!
The main page does have something interesting today - Ann Meyers analyses 40 prospects and does a decent job of it. She thinks Braxton will be a top 7 pick which is possible: anything outside the top 4 is highly variable and Braxton certainly has the talent. I think the top 4 will be McCarville, White, Irvin and Wecker, possibly in that order.
OTOH, there's fluff like "What To Wear for draft day". I'll say just one thing - avoid the Ohlde look at all costs.

Dear Insane Platypus Editor,
First of all, I enjoy your comments here. Keep up the good work.
But what I really wanted to ask is: are you one of the "Big 4" I keep hearing about?
How can I join? If I work my way up through the ranks is there any possibility of it becoming a "big 5" eventually?
I am prepared to engage in multiple forms of supposed "azz-kissing", such as:
- writing mock drafts
- analyzing players
- rooting for my team
- making fun of idiots & trolls
- generally having fun on the internet in a basketball-related environment
I don't know if this will help my chances, but I also have a couple of friends that attended Big 10 colleges.
Sincerely yours,
Mercury Fan
