As much as I like Alana Beard, she's going to flounder at the point. Washington needs direction in its offence and a rookie wing who played very little point in college is not going to provide that.

Yow! Nobody else saw it coming either. Having watched the Mystics almost come back from an 18-2 deficit last weekend to beat our Lynx (fortunately Katie had other ideas) I'll guess that Voeppel's (ESPN) take is about right: the Mystics needed a floor leader, and SDS stepped up. I imagine we'll see the Alana/SDS backcourt again. Man, I'm nervous about the Ohlde/Large Marge rematch: if Hayden's available and plays well, though, we'll be fine.
